BAID Successfully Passes WASC Initial Accreditation

BAID recently received official notification from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) that the school has successfully passed WASC Initial Accreditation. This significant achievement signifies that BAID has met the professional standards set by an internationally recognized accreditation body in areas including educational philosophy, curriculum and instruction, school governance, and student support systems, marking a new milestone in its international education.

In October 2024, the Chair of WASC visited Beijing Academy and engaged in in-depth discussions with the school's leadership team regarding educational philosophy, development planning, and the pathway to international accreditation. This visit provided professional guidance for advancing the subsequent accreditation process. BAID then officially launched the WASC accreditation process, with BAID and relevant school departments working in close collaboration to systematically organize and submit the required materials covering the school's mission and vision, curriculum development, instructional implementation and assessment, teacher professional development, student support, and school governance.

In early November 2025, the WASC accreditation evaluation was conducted online. Principal Xia Qingfeng, along with department leaders, faculty representatives, student representatives, and parent representatives, participated in the evaluation, engaging in thorough exchanges with the evaluation team on the school's development philosophy, educational and instructional practices, and continuous improvement mechanisms. The evaluation comprehensively covered the school's specific practices in promoting student learning outcomes, ensuring educational quality, and advancing sustainable school development. The evaluation team commended the school's clear development goals, solid curriculum implementation, and student-centered educational philosophy, and provided forward-looking and constructive professional recommendations.
