Yuan Xiaoyang holds a PhD in Genetics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, with a research focus on plant epigenetics. She teaches core biology courses including High School Academic Proficiency Biology, Honors Biology, and AP Biology.
Yuan independently developed the school Elective Plants Know the Truth of Life and co-developed the Elective Reading and Writing Genes. Plants Know the Truth of Life was recognized as one of the Most Popular Electives of the 2024-2025 academic year.
She has also long served as an instructor for the school's Experiential Course, Beijing Culture Exploration Program, and MFP program, providing close guidance to students on research projects. Several projects under her guidance have received First Prize. In the 2024-2025 academic year, she was recognized as a Beijing Academy Model Teacher.
