BA Model United Nations Club

President: An Yuehan, Chen Xinmo

Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic activity in which students represent countries as diplomats and debate international issues. They simulate conference proceedings by writing position papers and delivering speeches, negotiating alliances and drafting resolutions. Participation calls for knowledge of international relations and political insight, public speaking and negotiation skills, crisis management, and written English.

BAID students founded the BA MUN Club in 2018. It has grown from a small group to a medium-sized club, recording about 40 memberships over the past two years. Members come from BAID as well as other Beijing Academy programs. Wednesday sessions cover UN rules of procedure and writing position papers and resolutions, impromptu speaking and debate. Activities also include open debates and rapid question-and-answer sessions, along with coordinated crisis simulations. Club leaders An Yuehan of G11C1 and Chen Xinmo of G11C3 design discussions around issues within Beijing Academy, connecting MUN approaches with daily school life.
