BAID Speaker

BAID Speaker is an academic exchange platform created for Beijing Academy students. Since last year, more than 20 students have shared their interests and research here. Topics range from artificial intelligence to the philosophy of death, and from the workings of the brain to economic theory. Any subject that interests students can be shared and discussed.

Over the past year, the Academics Committee has hosted eight student talks. Topics included exploring brain science; an introduction to the 2026 school team for the iGEM international synthetic biology competition; learning from failure in baseball; exploring the boundaries of science fiction; a sleep fragrance device and synthetic biology; expanding the impact of community contributions; personal environmental initiatives for a greener campus; and a logical puzzle challenge exploring the Indo-European language family.

Many students find it difficult to attend talks during the brief half-hour lunch break. To make these talks available beyond the event itself, we launched the BAID Speaker website, where each student's presentation is recorded. Students can revisit topics that interest them and leave likes or comments for their favorite speakers, continuing the discussion after the talk.
